Not a great year, with a winning % of just 5.6%. Thank goodness for tax free betting! In the bad old days of 9% tax on stakes, I would have lost £1.7k rather than winning £2k. Accumulative % drops to 13.25%. Poor bets Worst bets of year were rugby (100% losers - £675), tennis (-£2k) and correct score betting (-£2.5k). General football bets were also £1k down. Good bets A year for the non-sporting bet! I was saved thanks to Fame Academy (+£3k), Politics (Dracula +967), Miss World (+461) and Small Read(+373). Draw bets showed a surprising £1.6k profit, despite my concerns about their profitability. Irish Tote bets showed + 885 (+79%) and need to be refined and expanded in 2004. Jury's out The 2003/04 ante-post football portfolio looks in a terrible state and is very likely to record the first overall loss for this sector for a good few years. Good luck for 2004! 01.01.04
